I Dream of You Now

by Leslie Shalduha

I dream of you now

I dreamed of you then

I wake knowing my love is infinite

Like the tides

My anger ebbs

Like the river

My sadness flows

Like the wind

My love never dies

Tears well and pool

I’m afraid to let them fall

Cause my eyes are broken

Just like my heart

Love comes in a mason jar

You said

Will mine stay forever preserved

Set on a shelf

In the damp dark cellar of my heart

Or is it a reminder

To enjoy a harvest from the past

In the cold depths of new winter

A reminder of love filled days of late summer

A thawing in the frozen tundra of my heart
